Founded in Canada (FiC) is your go-to directory for resources, tools, and connections that help founders thrive — whether you’re building your first MVP, scaling across provinces, or rallying support for a moonshot idea. We’re here to champion Canadian innovation, one founder at a time.

Our Playground

FiC is a national, nonprofit initiative designed to empower startups and the people behind them. Our mission is simple: connect founders to what they need to build — faster. From idea-stage dreamers to seasoned scaleups, we’re here to provide visibility, resources, and momentum to help Canadian innovation go further.

Joining Founded in Canada™

  • Age and Eligibility: There are no age restrictions to explore the platform. We’re a nonprofit here to support anyone with a vision and a drive to build.

  • Your Account: You don’t need an account to access most resources. If you’re submitting your startup or founder profile to the directory, we’ll collect a few details like your name, startup info, and contact so we can keep our listings up to date.

Sharing and Innovation

  • Your Contributions: The only content you can submit is your startup or founder profile for inclusion in the FiC directory. Please ensure all submitted information is accurate, respectful, and yours to share.

  • Tech Platforms Use: Use FiC to discover resources and opportunities that support your growth. We ask that you don’t misuse the platform or attempt to access or share private or sensitive data.

Buying, Selling, and Collaborating

  • Transactions: Everything on FiC is currently free to access. No payments, no subscriptions, no hidden fees.

  • Payments: If we ever introduce paid offerings in the future, we’ll be transparent about the terms and any refund policies.

Keeping It Respectful

  • Community Conduct: Treat everyone in the ecosystem with respect — whether you’re browsing the directory, sharing a listing, or reaching out to someone. Harassment, hate speech, or spam of any kind will not be tolerated.

  • Intellectual Property: Anything you submit remains yours. By submitting your listing to FiC, you grant us permission to publish it on the site and use it in ways that help promote Canadian founders — always with credit and care.

The Serious Stuff

  • Disputes: If any legal disputes arise, we’ll aim to resolve them through discussion or mediation in Ontario, Canada, aligned with our nonprofit values and commitment to community-first solutions.

  • Privacy: We take your privacy seriously. If you choose to submit your information, it will only be used to maintain and display your listing or to contact you directly if needed. We don’t sell your data or share it without permission.
