A National Map Built for Builders, Not Bureaucrats
Mar 16, 2025
It’s here: an open, searchable, actually-usable map of Canada’s startup ecosystem.

After months of mapping, emailing, and quietly rage-Googling, Founded in Canada has officially released what the Canadian startup ecosystem has been missing for far too long: a live, open-access Directory for builders.
This isn’t another outdated PDF or locked portal that requires a pitch deck and a referral just to access. It’s a clean, searchable database of over 250+ Canadian organizations — accelerators, funders, innovation hubs, grassroots communities, and support programs — all in one place.
No logins. No pitch decks. No 38-page PDFs from 2018.
This Directory is built for the real builders. The ones wondering:
Who funds underrepresented founders in Atlantic Canada?
What pre-seed programs exist in the Prairies?
Where do I go after Startup Weekend ends?
Until now, none of that lived in one place. Now it does.
“We built this because we needed it ourselves,” said Founder Kendra Garagan. “You shouldn’t have to know someone who knows someone to access support. That gatekeeping ends here.”
The Directory is searchable. Continuously updated. And unapologetically builder-first.
In the pipeline:
Tags for industry and funding stage
Filters for identity-led orgs
Spotlights on standout and under-the-radar programs
Direct submission and update tools for ecosystem builders
This isn’t just a list. It’s infrastructure.
It’s a call to action:
If you run a resource, add yourself.
If you’re a founder, find your next step.
If you’re tired of ecosystem chaos, welcome to clarity.
